To mark World Rivers Day I spoke in Parliament about the importance of our rivers on Thursday.
I am lucky enough to live beside the River Dee, one of the most famous salmon rivers in the world.
Sadly, however, my mailbox is now filled with messages from constituents, businesses and tourists who are concerned about the declining number of salmon in the River Dee.
It is clear that the SNP Government is not doing enough to treat declining salmon numbers, it is not doing enough to monitor sewage pollution and it is not doing enough to stop predation by seals and other predators.
Unless it accepts there is a problem, the SNP led by the Greens will simply let the iconic Scottish Salmon disappear along with all those whose livelihoods depend on it.
