Transport Scotland has recommended against fully dualling the A96 between Inverness and Aberdeen. However, since this review, the road has seen multiple collisions, including a collision on Saturday that closed it for seven hours between Alves and Forres.
Since 2021, 128 people have been killed or injured on the A96, yet promised improvements remain undelivered. The SNP appears to be abandoning their 2011 commitment to upgrade the route, which is an unacceptable reversal.
A fully dualled A96 is essential for safety and in some cases, is the difference between life and death. Anything less would betray the communities of the North and North East. If you agree that the SNP should keep their commitment to dual the A96, I hope you join our campaign below: www.scottishconservatives.com/news/dual-the-a96/
