Last Wednesday I attended my colleague Edward Mountain MSP for the Highlands and Islands event on Stoma awareness.
It was very insightful to speak to people to hear about the progress that has already been made, but also what is needed to be done – from removing the stigma to ensuring consistency across all health boards in Scotland.
It was also great to catch-up with local Ballater charity A Bear Named Buttony which provides support to children and young people who have a stoma.
