It is sickening to read reports that wreaths were deliberately set on fire on the memorial at City Chambers in Edinburgh, less than 24 hours after Remembrance Sunday services.
It is an unforgivable insult towards those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and continue to serve in the military.
Attacks like this underlines the importance of my colleague Meghan Gallacher MSP’s War Memorial Protection Bill that will impose tougher penalties on those who attack war memorials.
