I’m very grateful for the large number of people contacting me on the closure of Scolty Ward. Unfortunately we have had some bounce-backs from people’s email addresses and therefore I wanted to post my reply on here.
I want to assure you I am very much concerned and disappointed about the closure of Scolty Ward. I attended a meeting last week with AHSCP and have taken various actions this morning to raise important questions and concerns.
I’m glad to report that we were informed that a Staff Side/Partnership Representative will be attending a meeting with managers next week. She will be visiting the hospital beforehand to speak to staff to advocate for their views.
Another issue that was raised was concerns over mixed-gender wards and AHSCP also confirmed to us that there will be no mixed gender bays on the ward and they have no plans to change this.
We have logged a number of issues which we will raise at the appropriate time and will continue to work constructively with NHS Grampian.
If you wish to be on our mailing list on this or any other matter, or haven’t received a direct reply yet due to the above, please email me directly at [email protected] with your contact details.
