Aberdeenshire Council have set up a confidential self-referral telephone listening service for secondary school pupils aged 14-18 years.
It’s open to school pupils in Aberdeenshire all year round who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing.
This is a great service for school pupils to be able to access, having a safe space to talk about their worries and concerns.
I would encourage everyone to share this announcement and making this service known to children who it can benefit.
The service is confidential so anyone who calls the service can be reassured that no data on who calls the service will be passed back to schools.
However, should child protection protocols need to be followed, then counsellors are aware of the young person’s name and school so that procedure can be applied where necessary.
