Good news to hear that after reaching out to both NHS Grampian and the Scottish Government, they are looking to launch more blood testing hubs – including one in Banchory.
I know from speaking with residents in Banchory and Alford, many of whom are elderly or have cancer and other medical conditions, how vital these local services are and the prospect of 40-mile round trips is appalling.
The Scottish Government’s centralisation of blood-tests has cut-off communities, and waiting over 3 months for their response on life-saving testing was completely unacceptable.
