Thank you to The Association of Deer Management Groups (ADMG) for hosting an event to inform on the significant progress being made on upland deer management and the red deer range.
Deer Management Groups have the responsibility for the conservation and control of all species of deer presently found in Scotland. It was interesting to learn more on their plans and objectives to protect the welfare of deer and their habitat through sustainable management practices.
From their report, ADMG supports the principle that fencing is a vital temporary tool in securing woodland establishment and restoration in areas where deer and other herbivores are present. The ADMG believes that is possible to have expanding woodlands and maintain a deer population that stimulates economic and social benefits.
