I have received the below response from Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership - AHSCP to my letter condemning them for their refusal to consider the petition objecting to the overnight closure of Huntly MIU.
In this response, it is extremely concerning that Huntly is described as being the lowest attended MIU out of the three being closed overnight. I have repeatedly raised concerns since the announcement about the validity of this data after speaking with local health workers and constituents who have not been referred to the MIU, when they should be.
I have also written to the Scottish Health Secretary about this and the belief that people are being misdirected in order to reduce footfall and justify reductions and the eventual closure of the MIU. You can read this letter by clicking on the jpg attached below.
I have also noted that the Chief Officer has now conceded that drop-in session last week was not a consultation. Now that they have finally conceded that they have not consulted the public before making this decision, I am urging them to pause this decision in order to allow for a proper consultation process and proper public meeting to take place.
