NHS Grampian have made the decision to suspend visits to Aberdeen City hospitals to ensure the safety of patients and staff, and is being implemented with immediate effect.
This includes: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Woodend Hospital, Royal Cornhill Hospital, Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Roxburghe House.
Exceptions apply to those identified as essential visitors:
• A birth partner during childbirth
• For a person receiving end-of-life care
• To support someone with a mental health issue such as dementia, a learning disability or autism where not being present would cause the patient to be distressed
• To accompany a child in hospital
Additionally, any Aberdeen resident who is a designated visitor for any patient in Aberdeenshire or Moray should not attend - even if that facility falls within five miles of their home.
Anyone who is unwell and/or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 - a new, persistent cough and fever or high temperature - should not visit any patients in a hospital at any time.
