My colleague Jeremy Balfour MSP has introduced a Members Bill to the Scottish Parliament seeking to establish a Disability Commissioner for Scotland.

This Bill had overwhelming support at the initial consultation stage and the Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice Committee have now issued a Call for Views in advance of taking public evidence at Stage 1.

The Call for Views is open now and will close on Friday 17th May - click here.

Please respond even if you have already given your views at the initial proposal stage, as this Call for Views is forming part of the Stage 1 scrutiny process. This is the last opportunity members of the public will have to influence the process.
