A new consultation has been launched by my colleague Jamie Halcro Johnston, MSP for the Highlands and Islands on a proposal for his Bill on the regulation and protection of title and registration of electricians.

The Bill will ensure that electrical work is carried out by properly qualified, experienced and registered electricians, to prevent unsafe electrical installations that can result in dangerous consequences.

Proposals have been supported by organisations in the industry including SELECT and NICEIC.
