I was delighted to raise a motion recognising the phenomenal achievements of Andrew and Neil Simpson at the Winter Paralympics, winning Gold and Bronze medals.

They became Great Britain’s third-ever Winter Games gold medallists and first to win British male athletes to win gold on the snow.

Their dedication to their sport and success will inspire young athletes throughout the north-east and has given immeasurable pride to everyone that knows them.
