Great to hear that following feedback on their waste services, Aberdeenshire Council will be introducing the changes below from 1 August 2021:

• Removal of 8 visits in 4 weeks, so unlimited visits with cars, domestic style pick-ups and mobility adapted vehicles. Booking is still required.

• The number of visits permitted for domestic-style pick-ups will become unlimited, unless they are using a trailer. A domestic-style pick-up and trailer combination will now be permitted 24 visits per year in line with the existing trailer allowances.

• The size of admissible trailers will increase from 8 feet (2.5 metres) to 10 feet (3 metres).

• Car-derived van and trailer combinations will now be permitted at all centres.

I know that many constituents had raised their concerns with the previous guidance - which we raised with Aberdeenshire Council. I’m glad that our correspondence had a positive effect and this announcement will be a great relief!

We were also told that a consultation will be set up which I believe should still go ahead, but I will keep people informed.
