Since I was first elected as an MSP, I have actively campaigned to raise awareness and improve the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme Disease. It has been a privilege to host parliamentary events and apply pressure on the Scottish Government to further the cause.
In May, I led a debate on Lyme Disease Awareness Month, highlighting how climate change is making tick season last longer. Additionally, I submitted a motion in February about Lyme Disease Awareness Month. If you would like to read the motion I submitted, please click here.
I also regularly raise questions in the chamber regarding Lyme Disease and the Scottish Government's efforts to improve its diagnosis and treatment. If you'd like to read those questions and the Scottish Government’s answers, you can click here.
I am also proud to support The Tick-borne Illness Campaign Scotland and fully back their efforts to secure better treatment for patients in Scotland affected by Lyme Disease and related co-infections.
