On Monday I held a surgery in Westhill, it was great to meet with constituents to discuss and take forth their concerns. I will be carrying out many more surgeries when the Scottish Parliament is in Summer recess. I welcome all constituents to attend my surgeries and discuss any concerns or issues they may be having; no appointment is necessary.
On Tuesday, I attended the forum, ‘Scotland: Our Natural Wealth’, hosted by The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital. The event showcased the short film 'Scotland: our natural wealth' which highlights the positive impact of Scotland's natural capital and the innovative work being undertaken to protect and enhance natural wealth.
On Wednesday afternoon, I attended the Marie Curie ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’, this was a great event which brought everyone together to raise funds to support people with terminal illness and their families. On Wednesday evening, I attended the ‘PINK News Summer Reception’ with many of my fellow MSPs. An array of politicians spoke on current LGBT+ issues, celebrated the achievements of Scotland’s LGBT+ community and highlighted how we can best support and promote equality in Scotland, moving forward.
On Thursday, I attended the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston. This event brings many organisations and individuals from across the agriculture sector together and showcases the innovating and promising work being carried out across the agricultural community. Highlights of the day included learning about vertical farming with Intelligent Growth Solutions, and meeting with The Rural Wellbeing Forum to better understand the ongoing efforts to offer community support to those living in isolated and rural areas. I was also pleased to congratulate constituent Neil Barclay on his win as The Charolais supreme champion, with his Harestone Jaquard.
On Friday, I held a surgery at Banchory Business Centre, I always enjoy meeting with constituents and learning of the current concerns of my constituents. I will do my utmost going forward to support constituents and look forward to being increasingly present in the community as we enter the Summer Parliamentary recess.
Please continue to visit my website and social media for updates on my local surgeries and any other activities I am promoting in the constituency.
