On Monday, I held a surgery for my constituents at Banchory Business Centre, where I listened to their concerns.
Later, I visited Skene House, where I welcomed the Chancellor to Aberdeen with my colleagues. You can read the Chancellor’s announcements on his plans for the north-east here.
On Tuesday, I attended the Colleges Scotland Parliamentary Reception, to find out more about the valuable contribution that colleges make to individuals, communities and the economy.
On Wednesday, I attended my Finance Committee meeting, in addition to attending the Oil and Gas Cross-Party Group AGM, where I was re-elected Deputy Convenor, and was given an overview of the Economic Report 2017 from Adam Davey.
At the Education Portfolio Questions, time ran out for me to ask my question on the Northern Alliance – but you can find my question and written response here.
In the evening, I attended the ten-year anniversary celebrations of Buglife Scotland, who are dedicated to invertebrate conservation across the country. They have done an awful lot in our constituency to protect the critically endangered freshwater pearl mussel, with extensive habitat restoration having taken place along the River Dee, and it was a pleasure to thank them for all their hard work thus far.
On Thursday, I was interviewed by Robert Cumming, and as a result, £100 will be donated to the Teddington Trust for taking part. After the interview, I attended FMQs.
In the evening, I went to the Business in the Parliament 2017 Reception, in order to meet with business representatives from our constituency.
On Friday, I attended Business in the Parliament 2017, where I met with business people from our constituency. The theme of this year’s event was Leading Scotland: Unlocking our Economic and Business Potential.
