On Tuesday, I attended a briefing session on the safety of civil nuclear operating sites hosted by Paul Wheelhouse MSP.
In the evening, I attended the Enjoying Scotland’s Mountains Safely parliamentary reception, which celebrated the volunteers and professionals who dedicate their time to keep people safe in our internationally renowned mountains and landscapes.
On Wednesday, I attended my Finance and Constitution committee.
I attended the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee Portfolio Questions where I asked a question to the Cabinet Secretary as to whether low emission zones – outlined in the Programme for Government – will also include urban consolidation hubs for goods vehicles, given that transport emissions have not fallen under the SNP government. In the afternoon, I attended the Conservative Party debate on Housing, to address the Scottish Government’s failure to honour its commitment to build 35,000 new homes a year. If you would like to watch the debate, you can find it here.
Later, I attended the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Autumn lecture with Bill Bowman MSP, which focused on Data Science and its Potential for Actuaries and Policy Making.
On Thursday, I was invited to attended the Petitions Committee meeting where the Lyme Disease petition was brought to discuss. You can view my contributions here.
I then held a meeting with Tracey Bowden from Pfizer UK before attending First Ministers Questions.
At lunch I attended the Scottish Parliament Renewable Energy And Energy Efficiency (SPREEE) Cross Party Group where I was elected Deputy Convenor.
On Friday, I held street surgeries for my constituents in Huntly with local Councillor Robbie Withey, where they could share local concerns.
On Saturday I was delighted to present the Quaich’s to the winners of the Half Marathon at Crathes, congratulations to all who took part!
