I visited Balmoral Offshore Engineering in July, where we discussed the importance of exports and diversification to the North East.

I was given a tour of the premises by Bill Main, the Group Financial President. The company, has managed to grow from diversifying into property management of the industrial estate they run , whilst also being a market leader in  buoyancy, insulation and elastomer products. Although, most of their day to day activities aren't in the North Sea, I felt it key to gain some useful information on how Balmoral is making a success of the downturn.

I was also given the positive news that despite Aberdeen's current woes, this is one company that will continue to deliver for the North East. 

I hope to have further such meetings with different companies in the coming days.
