On Monday I sadly had to attend the funeral of a local campaigner, Dave Clucas. He was a stalwart of the party who helped me in many campaigns and was always a friendly face you enjoyed having out on the campaign trail. He will be dearly missed by all.
On Tuesday afternoon I took part in the Scottish National Investment Bank. Whilst the Scottish Conservatives are supportive of the proposals, we are wary of the implementation of the SNIB. You can see my speech here.
On Wednesday morning, I attended the Finance and Constitution Committee. In the afternoon I attended Portfolio Questions to ask a question on behalf of a constituent on out of hours dental care. In the evening I attended an ME Awareness Week Parliamentary Reception.
On Thursday, I attended FMQs co-hosting a Lymes Disease Roundtable with my colleague Donald Cameron MSP.
In the afternoon I lead the debate for the Scottish Conservatives on the Route Map to Energy Efficiency, where we sought to bring forward the EPC 'C' ratings targets forward to 2030, not 2040 as the SNP had outlined. I was fortunate to gain cross-party support for my amendment and therefore won the motion to be amended. You can see my speech and the debate here and the amendment winning support in the video above.
On Friday I joined my colleagues in the North East for the NFUS Roundtable held in Oldmeldrum. An interesting discussion!
