A Master Plan for the development site at Kincardine O'Neil has been drawn up and discussed at the recent Marr Area Committee Meeting. 25% of this scheme will be affordable housing- much needed on Deeside, and all of the development is of good quality and traditional design.
Councillor Jill Webster said, "When discussed at the Marr Area Committee, I welcomed the Master Plan which aims to integrate the new development into the character of the village. In addition, I put forward that landscaping be incorporated to reflect the rural nature of the village, that stone frontages be used on the buildings in keeping with other buildings and that, if possible, a safe walking and cycling route to school, avoiding the main A93, should be included."
Alexander commented, ‘This is a continuing project which has seen fantastic co-operation between the developers, Aberdeenshire Council and the Kincardine O’Neil community. It is important that new developments retain the character of the local community and integrate well. I have been following this development for some time and believe it is an excellent addition for the much needed housing supply. The developer involved has a track record that is recognised nationally in providing much needed low cost, affordable and sustainable housing. '
