Since I was elected in 2016, many of you have contacted me about cuts to council services. The fact of the matter is that the Scottish Government’s budget continues to rise, with the recent announcement that Scotland will receive an additional £3.4bn in funding from the UK Government next year.
But the SNP continue to fail to properly fund our councils and health boards who are desperately calling out for more resources.
The SNP have been in power for 17-years and they have nothing to show for it but a struggling NHS, broken bridges and an education system failing to support children.
We are now in a position where Aberdeenshire Council have to increase Council Tax or cut valued services by £26 million – including reducing school staff, limiting road maintenance and halting flood protection efforts.
I urge everyone to complete this Aberdeenshire Council survey, which allows you to share your views on which services could be cut.
