On Tuesday I attended a meeting of the Environment, Climate Change, and Land Reform Committee where we considered the draft report on the Scottish Government’s draft climate change plan.
In the chamber I spoke in support of Kenneth Gibson MSP's motion in support of Endometriosis Awareness Week 2017. Endometriosis affects 1.5-2 million women in the UK but the lack of information available prevents many women from getting the treatment they need. My full speech can be found here.
Additionally I attended a Monitor Farms Reception hosted by Peter Chapman MSP.
On Wednesday I chaired the Scottish Policy Conferences keynote seminar about the next steps for enhancing our natural capital and biodiversity. The seminar included speakers from Rewilding Britain, the Scottish Wildlife Trust, and a presentation from Cabinet Secretary Roseanna Cunningham, MSP.
On Thursday I asked First Minister Sturgeon about the unacceptably high business rates increases for nurseries and how this will affect working mothers. My question and the response can be found here.
On Friday and Saturday, I was present at Conference. I would like to thank all of the speakers and delegates at the Conference for making this one of our largest and best Conferences yet.
On Saturday morning, I spoke about the importance of Oil and Gas to the Scottish economy, particularly in the Northeast. A video of my speech can be found here.
It is clear that Scottish Conservatives provide the only strong opposition to the SNP, and under the strong leadership of Ruth Davidson we will continue pushing this government to focus on responsible governance instead of independence.
