On Tuesday I attended a meeting of the Environment, Climate Change, and Land Reform committee where I participated in a discussion on deer management issues. Links to my questions can be found here and here.
On Wednesday Maurice Golden MSP and I met with WWF Scotland to discuss conservation issues. I also met with representatives from Friends at the End and attended a VisitScotland reception and a reception for the Scottish Campaign for National Parks.
During the afternoon in the chamber, I asked a portfolio question about teacher retention strategies. A link to the question and response can be found here. I attended a debate put forward by my colleagues in the Conservative Party on preventative health strategies and retaining the Highlands and Islands Enterprise board.
On Thursday I asked Cabinet Secretary Roseanna Cunningham MSP a question about the draft climate change budget. A link to the question and response can be found here. I also met with Leon Thompson of VisitScotland about promoting 2017 as the year of history, heritage, and archaeology. Great to bring more tourism to Scotland.
On Friday I held a surgery in Huntly, met with Ken Wood at the Insch Airfield, and met with the Huntly Rotary club regarding our upcoming Parliamentary reception for Purple4Polio, a great event supporting Rotary International's goal to eradicate polio.
