Over the weekend, I attended the Banchory Remembrance Sunday service, where I had the great honour of laying a wreath. I would like to thank both the British Legion for organizing the service and all of those who were involved.

On Tuesday morning, I attended the BT Scotland Parliamentary Surgery where I brought forward constituent concerns at the lack of broadband availability and slow speeds that affect much of our constituency and region.
In the evening, I attended the first meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Autism at the Scottish Parliament. I have the pleasure of being a founding member of this group, and I look forward to the work that our group will do. We hope to provide support for people with Autism and Asperger’s and help to raise awareness about this important cause.
On Wednesday morning, I attended a meeting of the Finance Committee. In the afternoon, I asked the Scottish Government a question about its plans to study the effects of the North East 250 tourist route around the North East of Scotland. My question to Fiona Hyslop, the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, can be viewed here. In the evening, I attended a meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Oil and Gas where we discussed the Health and Safety Report produced by Oil and Gas UK. You can view the report here.
On Thursday, I attended FMQ’s, after which I took part in a drop-in event at Parliament on spotting the signs of mouth cancer. It was a pleasure to be involved in this event, and I am glad that we were able to raise awareness about oral health.
In the afternoon, I attended a debate on Scottish Government support for Veterans and the Armed Forces Community in Scotland.
On Friday morning, I attended a meeting of Opportunity North East (ONE) with Sir Ian Wood. This initiative is a private sector-led response to the economic challenges we face in the North East. It seeks to maximize our region’s oil and gas potential, but also to diversify the economy and strengthen our business base. I look forward to ONE’s future success in the North East.
In the afternoon, I held a surgery at Banchory Business Centre, where I met with constituents and listened to local concerns.
