Scottish Conservative MSP Alexander Burnett is calling for constituents in Aberdeenshire West to nominate a Local Hero to secure a coveted place at the ceremonial opening of the Scottish Parliament in October.
The call comes as MSPs are being asked to nominate one of their constituents who have made an extraordinary contribution to the lives of other people living in Scotland - locally or nationally - during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alexander will review all of the nominations and select his “Local Hero” to attend the opening of the Scottish Parliament.
Alexander said, “Throughout the pandemic thousands of volunteers have been dedicated to supporting our communities. It is fantastic that MSPs are being invited to identify a Local Hero and I look forward to the support of people across Aberdeenshire West to help identify who this should be.”
“I continue to be inspired by our wonderful volunteers and I look forward to learning more about the huge amount of volunteer work that has been done across the region.”
